As spring and summer approaches, you may have a toddler that is eager to bike with you! There are two options when it comes to learning how to ride a bike- training wheels and balance bikes!
In the graphic below, I compare the two options. Keep in mind that neither option is superior to the other. Every child is different- some children struggle with balancing on the bike, and others struggle with the coordination of pedaling the bike. Observe your child and notice which components of bike riding they are good at, and what they need more assistance with. Then, decide which bike would be best to practice with!
Safety first! ALWAYS wear a helmet when bike riding.
