About Us
Everyday Kids Community Center is a public play/gathering space for families with children of all abilities.
Visit us to play, exercise and connect with other families. We love to host support groups, parent clubs, play dates birthday parties and hope to bring the community of families with children with special needs together with other children and families. This is a space where all are welcome, where people can be seen and embraced among others of different creed, color or ability.
A safe place for all families to socialize, exercise and play!
We also offer pediatric physical and occupational therapy services at the center and in the home and community.

After attending Appalachian State University to complete her undergraduate degree she graduated from Elon University Doctor of Physical Therapy program in March of 2008. She has been working in pediatric therapy since then and has a passion for working with children of all ages. Angela has extensive experience with the birth to three population as well as working with children of all ages and into adulthood. She has experience with aquatic therapy and building function in the community. She is trained in both TMR Tots and DMI specialty therapy techniques. Angela is skilled with evaluating for positioning and support needs and managing adaptive equipment like wheelchairs, standers and walkers.

in 2006. Carrie received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education from Roanoke
College in 2000 and a Masters of Education in Exercise Physiology from the University of
Georgia in 2001. Carrie’s physical therapy work experience includes working in acute care,
home health experience for adults/geriatrics as well as experience with pediatrics. She reports that with all of her experience the most wonderful and rewarding of her career has been working with children.
Carrie is originally from Salem, VA however, she has remained in Burlington since she moved
here in 2004 to attend Physical Therapy school at Elon. Carrie met her husband Jakes here in Burlington while she attended Physical therapy school and they now have two young girls, Ella and Sophie. Carrie enjoys being active, spending time with family and friends, learning new things as well as reading, and she loves being able to spend time at her most favorite place—the beach.

Therapy from Elon University. She has experience treating children in the NICU, PICU,
acute care, outpatient, and aquatic settings. She is now employed by Everyday Kids
and treats children aged 0-21 years old in their natural environment throughout Durham, Orange, Alamance and surrounding counties. She is a current member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy. She
believes that evidence based practice combined with collaborative care between the family, physician, and the therapist will encourage children to reach their highest
potential.


Andrew has experience working with adults and pediatrics with a wide variety of genetic, orthopedic,and neurological diagnoses such as cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, developmental delay, Torticollis, orthopedic injuries, neuromuscular disorders and hypotonia, autism, and Parkinson’s.
He has experience in a variety of pediatric and adult settings including: school-based therapy, home health, acute care and outpatient. Specialized training includes dry needling and Kinesio Taping.
Andrew focusses on treating the body as a whole unit and approaching each new client and family as a teammate—working together to create the path towards helping patients and families achieve their goals.
Outside of work, Andrew enjoys spending time with his family, the great outdoors, and coaching/playing any sport with his 3 boys.



Outside of work, Maggie’s favorite occupations include reading, crocheting, exercising, and spending time with her husband. Maggie is passionate about advocating for the needs of children with diverse abilities and their families and helping them feel successful in their daily activities.

Susan is particularly tuned into the needs of families because of:
• Ongoing education in pediatric feeding disorders and oral restrictions of lip and tongue
• Experience with neonatal feeding practices for bottle feeding and collaborating with
• Strong background in the importance of family support, engagement, and collaboration with Lactation Consultants for a feeding plan
• Certification in Neonatal Touch and Massage since 2019
Susan is experienced and comfortable serving families whose children have the following diagnoses: Prematurity, Sensory Processing Disorder, Developmental Delay/Fine Motor Skills, Genetic Conditions, Autism, Cerebral Palsy/Musculoskeletal, Feeding Dysfunction including children with G-tubes, and Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome.
